Charles Martin – Now and Then: a 60 year retrospect in art

The exhibition will feature 80+ works in oil, acrylic, collage, photography, printmaking, sculpture, and drawing media. Martin’s earliest work dates back to 1956, a black and white photograph of an old car and spanning to a scratch board work of a wood duck made in 2016. This retrospect reveals the great skill and breadth of one man’s journey through a creative life.

Charles Martin began is education in Rochester, MN and continued at the University of Minnesota finishing with a M.A. Degree in 1959. Martin has done additional work at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. Martin has taught at Centennial High School, Irondale High School, Anoka Ramsey Junior College, and the University of Minnesota. He has also taught at area art centers including Banfill-Locke Center for the Arts and the Rochester Art Center. Martin has exhibited extensively over the years in area art centers and galleries.

The exhibition will be on view April 15 to May 13.

An artist reception is planned for Saturday April 22 from 5 to 8 PM.
