On Friday, November 9 at 7:30 pm you are invited to join Banfill-Locke Center for the Arts to hear local authors Caitlin Bailey and Sagirah Shahid read selections from their writings. The event is free and open to the public.
Caitlin Bailey received an MFA from Hamline University. Her first book, Solve for Desire, won the 2017 Lindquist & Vennum Prize for Poetry and was published by Milkweed Editions and is a finalist for a Minnesota Book Award. She lives in Minnesota.
Sagirah Shahid is an African American Muslim writer from Minneapolis, Minnesota. Her poems and short stories can be found in Mizna, Paper Darts, AtlanticRock, Blue Minaret, and elsewhere.
