2018 Summer Kids Art Camp!

Banfill-Locke Center for the Arts is offering

full day – week long art fun for kids from 8-14.

9 am to 3 pm          $165 – $195

Have you ever wondered how street artists spray paint masterpieces within minutes? Would you like to learn how you can do the same? In this five day camp students will learn about a variety of art movements that are igniting the art community. Participants will explore spray painting, textile art, optical illusions, and other dynamic combinations of materials. Each day will be filled with creative exploration that challenges boundaries.

chalk-pastelsJuly 16 – 20    Color POP!

9 am to 3 pm          $165 – $195

In this fun filled workshop, students will integrate comic book art, claymation, and the art of advertising using a variety of different art techniques and mediums. This five day camp will inspire young artists to see art in the everyday world around them. Each day will  be filled with games and colorful some times messy creativity.

July 23-26     Song writing Workshop with James Hersch

1 pm to 2:30 pm    FREE 

James Hersch is back for another year of fun song writing. This four day – afternoon session will guide students through collaborative composing, arranging and recording original music. A CD release party will be announced in early fall to celebrate the music made and for the participants to receive their recordings.

We are able to offer this class free of charge through our partnership with Anoka County Library.

Space is limited. Please, register early to ensure a spot in this class.

9 am to 3 pm          $165 – $195

Instead of staring at a screen all summer, wouldn’t it be more fun to create a world of your own? In this five day camp you will develop techniques in the theatrical creation process.  Participants will explore various art mediums as they learn how to create their own costume wigs, fantastical puppets or beasts and much more.

Class sizes are limited and are filled on a first come, first served basis. Fees must be paid in full at the time of registration by Cash, Check, or Credit Card. All supplies are included in the fee.
