Visual Arts

The visual artist can take part in a number of activities at Banfill-Locke Center for the Arts on a weekly basis.  Occasionally the groups take a week off; check the Calendar for updated information- if the group is not listed for the week, they will not be meeting.

NEW! Fiber Arts Open Studio 

New day and time – First Sundays from 1pm-4pm: An open studio for artists working with fiber. Bring your latest project to work on and share as you socialize with other fiber artists and draw inspiration from the galleries. There is no formal instruction and no cost to participate. The group will not meet Sunday July 2, 2017.

Life Drawing Co-op

Wednesdays; 10am-12:30pm: The Life Drawing co-op meets at Banfill-Locke. There is a model hired each week and attendees to the group share the model’s fee. Cost is $10 per artist. Bring your drawing materials and enjoy the practice of life drawing each week.

Open Studio

Wednesdays; 1-4pm:  Are you stuck on a painting or drawing and would like a little advice? Joyce is here every Wednesday to host mini workshops or one-on-one assistance to anyone who just needs a little help. No cost and no appointment necessary!  Freewill donation can be given to Joyce, if desired. You may also just drop in to work on your own art in this open studio format. Bring your own supplies.

Painting Group

Thursdays; 10am-noon: This group of oil painters come together to paint every week from.  There is no formal instruction and no cost to participate. Drop in and paint with others in our classroom space.

Create at BLCA

Members of Banfill-Locke Center for the Arts can use space in the building to create art during open hours of the facility. Just call or email to reserve the drawing studio or classroom for your own use.
