Banfill-Locke Center for the Arts depends on volunteers to help in a variety of ways!
Guest Services Volunteers – welcome guests and provide information about the exhibition and BLCA, assist with gift shop purchases, register individuals for classes, and answer the phone. We ask for 2 three-hour shifts a month for this position. Current shifts that are available are Tuesday 1 pm to 4 pm, Thursday 10 am to 1 pm, and Saturday 10 am to 1 pm and 1 pm to 4 pm. Training and support is provided for this position.
Special Events Volunteers – assist with exhibitions, Family Art Sundays, Art at Rice Creek, and other events as they come up. Commitment can be as few as 3 hours annually or as many as 40 per year.
Office Volunteers – help with a variety of tasks, including mailings, data entry and filing. Volunteers can work weekly, monthly, or as needed and volunteer tasks can be tailored to meet your schedule and interests.
Volunteer Gardeners – commit to care and upkeep of a portion of the BLCA gardens and work independently to keep them looking beautiful.
Board Members – serve a 3-year term and commit to attending the six annual board meetings, assist with governing the organization, and attending and helping out at events throughout the year.
