The galleries and the gift shop are open to the public Tuesday through Saturday, 10 am to 4 pm.
Admission is FREE for the Art Center galleries or the surrounding park. Parking in the adjacent lot is also free and handicapped parking is designated.
If you have a group that wishes to visit the exhibition, please let us know in advance if possible. Free tours are available with advance notice. Art making classes for groups, such as Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts, can be arranged to suit your specific needs. Instruction is $35/hour for the group (up to 8 individuals), plus materials.
We are located approximately 1 and 1/2 miles north of 694 between Mississippi Street and Osborne Road. The address of the Center is 6666 East River Road, Fridley, MN 55432. Map directions to BLCA here.
The Art Center is also located on a Metro Transit busline 852- Express, Anoka, Coon Rapids, Northtown, Minneapolis. The 852 schedule can be found at this link. The busstop, when heading north, is at Rice Creek Way and is directly across East River Road from the Art Center. When coming south, the stop is in front of the Banfill Building. The ride from downtown Minneapolis takes approximately 20 minutes.

Banfill-Locke Center for the Arts is also located on the Mississippi River Trail bike route. Use the parking lot as your starting point, stop in to see some art, and then ride north or south along the river trails. Bike parking is available outside the Banfill building.
All exhibitions and most classes are located on the wheel chair-accessible ground floor. We are happy to ensure accessibility to any class and workshop. Park trails are paved and wide enough for wheel chairs; additionally, there are designated handicap parking spots.
ASL interpretation of the Reading Series, classes, or other events is available upon request. Please contact us if ASL interpretation would help you enjoy our programs.
