Join us at the Banfill-Locke Center for the Arts for a special evening of words and images featuring the work of two award-winning writers: Kathleen Jesme and Swati Avasthi. The next installment of the reading series takes place Friday, March 14 at 7:30 pm.
Poet Kathleen Jesme’s work creates startling images and associations through spare, evocative language; novelist Swati Avasthi uses graphic art and vibrant prose to bring to life dramatic and intense characters. They will each be reading from their new books, and we will view the graphic art of Avasthi’s latest novel.
The Dirty Hands reading series features writers whose work addresses the world with immediacy and sharp edges. Discover new voices as well as new writing from familiar writers and new ways of reading and presenting poetry, prose, and ideas. These are interactive events; series curator Becca Barniskis invites audience response and facilitates a lively exchange between writers and readers.
The Reading Series events are always free to attend. Stop on by for an enjoyable evening of socializing and literary interests!
