Join us at the Banfill-Locke Center for the Arts Friday, August 8 at 7:30 pm for an evening of poetry and story featuring the work of Gwen Westerman and Glenn Wasicuna. The event is free and open to the public.
Gwen Westerman is a poet and visual artist. She is the author of a collection of poetry Follow the Blackbirds, and the co-author of Mni Sota Makoce: The Land of the Dakota.
Glenn Wasicuna teaches Dakota language at Dakota Wicohan in Morton, Minnesota.
The Dirty Hands reading series at Banfill-Locke Center for the Arts features writers whose work addresses the world with immediacy and sharp edges. Discover new voices as well as new writing from familiar writers and new ways of reading and presenting poetry, prose, and ideas. These are interactive events; series curator Becca Barniskis invites audience response and facilitates a lively exchange between writers and readers.
