Opening Saturday, July 26 and on view through August 23, Small, Moments, Big Spaces: Lisa Fratzke & Lindsy Halleckson will provide a colorful and meditative view of our natural world. There is a free public reception on Sunday, July 27 from 4 to 6 pm.
Though their approaches are very different, Lisa and Lindsy are both drawn to color and nature and the silence that can be embodied in a painting. This show is a beautiful reflection on the meditative nature of these artists’ landscape works.
Fratzke’s travels both abroad and at home have fueled her passion for understanding the human experience, the human form, and the landscapes we all inhabit.
Halleckson’s paintings are based on the importance of connecting with nature as a way of connecting to ourselves and our community. Halleckson grew up in Minnesota and spent endless hours in the woods and lakes surrounding her home. She researches the importance of natural silence and effects of human-created noise on our environment.
