The Banfill-Locke Center for the Arts Member Show is an open call for all those individuals with current membership to the art center. About the Juror:
Chris Willcox was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario. She earned BFA degrees from the Ontario College of Art and Design, University of Guelph and earned her MFA from Mason Gross School of the Arts, Rutgers University, New Jersey. She moved to the Twin Cities in 2000, to accept a position at Macalester College in St. Paul, where she is a tenured professor in the Art and Art History department. Her work has been shown at galleries in the U.S. and Canada, including, the MAEP galleries at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, the Phipps Center for the Arts and in 2016 she had a solo exhibition in the Law Warshaw Gallery at Macalester College. She is the recipient of numerous grants, including Canada Council and Ontario Arts Council Grants, and in 2014, A Howard Foundation Fellowship in painting and a Minnesota State Arts Board Grant. She will travel to Scotland in fall 2017 to research and make a series of paintings based on her family’s immigration path from Glasgow to Toronto in the 1920’s.
