Jeffrey Ebeling to depart Banfill-Locke Center for the Arts

Banfill-Locke Executive director named new executive director of Clear Lake Arts Center

Jeffrey Ebeling, executive director of Banfill-Locke Center for the Arts, is leaving the center after becoming its executive director two years ago. Ebeling’s next opportunity will be serving as the Executive Director of the Clear Lake Arts Center in Clear Lake, Iowa. Ebeling will end his tenure as executive director at Banfill-Locke on April 30.

“BLCA has been a great entry into my dream job. I have wanted to work professionally in a museum or art center since I was in junior high. When the opening for BLCA happened, it was an opportunity to make that dream a reality. I am grateful for all the talented people I have met since taking on the leadership role at BLCA. The Art Center is a real gem of the north metro” Ebeling said.

“When a dear friend messaged me that the Executive Director role at the Clear Lake Arts Center was open, I was elated. It is not often that a role like this opens up so close to my family and friends. CLAC is a great opportunity in my career trajectory. And I won’t lie; being only seven miles from my granddaughter, Brynn, was a motivator.”

The Banfill-Locke Board of Directors plans to work with Ebeling to install an interim programs manager while it conducts a thorough Executive Director search in the coming months.

Over the last two years under Ebeling’s leadership, the Art Center engaged with more than 15,000 people through its reading series, classes, Youth Art Camp, and annual events. The Art Center also worked with a lot of exceptional artists, writers, and poets to curate more than 40 exhibitions and events.

The Board would like to commend and thank Jeffrey’s for his creativity, vision, and leadership in his tenure at the center. His presence will be missed at Banfill-Locke, but all of the Directors are excited about his new opportunity and wish him well in his upcoming adventure.
