The Art Center is located in award-winning Manomin Regional Park- part of the Anoka County system of parks. This area is home to a wide array of wildlife and provides a scenic setting for the historic Banfill Tavern building.  At the juncture where Rice Creek flows into the Mississippi River, the park offers paved trails, picnic areas and a relaxing spot to enjoy nature.

The gardens surrounding the Banfill Tavern building are maintained by a great team of talented volunteer gardeners.  The volunteers, nicknamed the Dirty Dozen, each maintain a separate area of the extensive gardens.  Gardening is done on the volunteer’s own schedule and each gardener maintains his or her own vision for the space.  If you are interested in donating plants or your time as a gardener, please contact Banfill-Locke Center for the Arts at
